33 Wigmore Street
London, UK

Forme UK were appointed by Lazari Investments Ltd. in 2021 as Interior Architects for the refurbishment of the reception and lower ground floor lobbies at 33 Wigmore Street.

The building was built in 1907 as a showpiece department store for Debenham & Freebody. Our vision for the interior design of this Grade 2 listed building focussed on its rich history and photographs from the National Monuments Record of the original form of the entrance hall, and a contemporary postcard advertising the glamour of the new department store. These showed a grand carpeted stair and glazed doors leading to departments beyond and exotic furnishings with potted palms
framing the base of the staircase.

Our aim was to return to the original grandeur of the space and recreate some of these beautiful features with a modern yet sensitive lighting design scheme.
